Card machine or billing counter? What a Delhi shop actually needs

‘POS machine’ means two different things, and the difference decides what you should buy. Here is the plain version, including when you do not need us.

The thing nobody explains

A card machine and a billing counter are not the same thing

A payment terminal — a Paytm Soundbox, a Pine Labs Android terminal, an MSwipe reader — takes money. Card, UPI, done. It does not print a GST invoice, scan a barcode, deduct stock or read a weighing scale.

A billing counter is the rest of it: the software that makes the bill, a thermal receipt printer, a barcode scanner, a cash drawer, and a scale if you sell loose goods.

Most shops need both. They are usually bought separately, from different suppliers, and never introduced to each other — which is why on thousands of counters the cashier reads the total off the bill and types it into the card machine by hand. That is where wrong-amount charges come from.

Keep it short

What a new shop needs on day one

  • Software that prints a GST-compliant bill
  • A thermal receipt printer
  • A barcode scanner, if you sell packed goods
  • A weighing scale, if you sell loose goods
  • A payment terminal, if you want to take cards

Anything beyond this can wait until you know how your counter actually runs.

Being specific

Where we fit

We supply and install the counter: billing software, terminal, printer, scanner, drawer and scale, from a showroom in West Patel Nagar. We connect Pine Labs, Paytm, MSwipe and Razorpay terminals to it so the amount is pushed across instead of retyped.

If all you need is a way to accept UPI, you do not need us — get a Soundbox and spend the money on stock instead. We are worth calling when you need the bill, the stock and the payment to be one system, and somebody local to install it and answer the phone afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

It depends what you mean by POS machine. Paytm, BharatPe, Pine Labs and MSwipe supply card and UPI payment terminals. A billing counter — software, receipt printer, barcode scanner, cash drawer, weighing scale — is a different product, and usually comes from a local dealer who installs and services it. We do the second, from West Patel Nagar, with same-day installation across Delhi NCR.

A card machine takes payment. It does not print a GST invoice, read a barcode, deduct stock or talk to a weighing scale. A POS billing system is the counter itself. Most shops need both, and they are usually bought from different places — which is why so many counters end up with the bill total being typed into the card machine by hand.

Three things: software that prints a GST-compliant bill, a thermal receipt printer, and a barcode scanner if you sell packed goods. Add a weighing scale if you sell loose goods. Card payments need a separate payment terminal. Nothing else is essential on day one.

We integrate them. Pine Labs, Paytm, MSwipe and Razorpay terminals can be connected to the billing counter so the bill amount is pushed to the card machine instead of being typed in again — which is where wrong-amount charges come from.

18/1O, Block 18, Upper First Floor, West Patel Nagar, near Patel Nagar Metro Station, New Delhi 110008. Most counters in Delhi NCR are installed the same day, including data migration from your old system and staff training. Hardware carries a one-year warranty.

Card aur UPI machine ke liye Paytm, Pine Labs ya MSwipe. Poora billing counter — software, printer, scanner, kaanta — aur uski installation ke liye local dealer chahiye. Hum West Patel Nagar se yahi karte hain, Delhi NCR mein usi din installation ke saath.
